At a meeting of the first Universalist Society of Battle Creek in the County of Calhoun and State of Michigan held at the Hall of said Society on Sunday the Eighth day of February AD one thousand Eight hundred and fifty two which meeting was called for the purpose of organizing said Society according in such case made and provided whereupon Alonzo Noble and Giddings Whitmore were duly nominated to preside at such meeting for the purpose of receiving the votes for trustees of said Society they being two of the members of said Society. Now therefore
We Alonzo Noble and Giddings Whitmore do hereby certify that Charles Mason, Alonzo Noble and Harry Harmon are duly elected as the first trustees of the First Universalist Society of Battle Creek and do further certify that said trustees and their successors in office shall be known as the Trustees of the First Universalist Society of Battle Creek forever.
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this twenty seventh day of February AD one thousand Eight hundred and fifty two.
