We Theron Hamilton a stewart [sic] of the Coldwater circuit of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the State of Michigan and Ansel Adams, both of Burlington aforesaid and both legal voters in the first society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Burlington aforesaid and who were nominated presiding officer by a majority of the legal voters present at an election for trustees of the first Methodist society aforesaid, held at Burlington aforesaid on the tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty two pursuant to notice as required as required by the Revised Statutes of the State of Michigan do hereby certify that on the day aforesaid the following named persons Edwin A Hayden, Levi Houghtalling & Theron Hamilton all of Burlington aforesaid were legally elected Trustees of the first society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the Township of Burlington county of Calhoun and State of Michigan. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & forty two.

On the 10th day of May 1842 before me the subscriber came the above named Theron Hamilton and Ansel Adams known to me to be the persons who executed the foregoing instrument and acknowledge the execution of the same.
