We the undersigned do hereby certify that at a meeting of the Freewill Baptist Society of Cooks Prairie called pursuant to legal notice and held at the Brick School house in the Township of Clarendon in the County of Calhoun and State of Michigan on the 24th day of February A.D. 1849 for the purpose of electing a Board of Trustees for said Society, Elijah Cook, Almon C. Hopkins, and Elijah Andrus were duly elected to the said office of Trustees and the name by which said Trustees and their successors in office shall forever hereafter be known is
“The Trustees of the Freewill Baptist Society of Cooks Prairie.”
Given under our hands and seals this 24th day of February A.D. 1849.

On this 26th day of February A.D. 1849, before me a Justice of the Peace in and for said county personally came the above named Elijah Cook and Ira Sumner known to me to be the persons who executed the above instrument and acknowledged the same to be their free act and deed.
